Development of the Issyk-Kul: Meeting with the WB Mission

At the initiative of the World Bank, a meeting with the WB mission took place at the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic. The agenda included discussions on developing a Strategy and Master Plan for the sustainable development of Issyk-Kul Oblast, the pilot implementation of Tourism Satellite Accounts in the region, and participation in the international tourism investment forum scheduled to be held in Issyk-Kul Oblast in 2024.

The mission was attended by representatives of the World Bank, the Project Implementation Group of the World Bank under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, Consulting Companies (THR, TBSC Consulting, United Group and JCF Strategy), the working group established for the sustainable development of tourism in Issyk-Kul Oblast, as well as representatives from the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further steps to strengthen cooperation in the tourism sector.
